50 mile week wrap-up

Smithville Lake Round 2 was good today - 14 miles. Saw two deer, some orioles, bluejays, and one tick. Didn't see the last rascal until it was too late (he hitched a ride on Matt's leg).

I feel good, but Matt's not doing so well. Here are his symptoms:

Lack of energy
Headache and stiff neck
Fever and chills
Muscle and joint pain
Swollen lymph nodes
Distinctive rash

I think it's probably just fatigue since we put in 48.66 miles on the bikes this week. Ticks don't carry disease, do they???

It is with grave concern that I report Matt's symptoms resemble those of Grandpa Jack, when he had The Limes Disease. Grandpa Jack's treatment of frequent golfing and fishing resulted in a full recovery. Matt should pedal his putter and pole to the nearest golf course pond and employ them until symptoms subside. Prognosis will be positive. You're welcome. That'll be $100, payable to the MS 150.

Yeah I agree with dr. quackster. Rest until you feel fresh again.

The point of training is to benefit from training adaptations (new mitochondria, capilarization, cleaner veins, stronger muscles, lungs, heart etc.), and these adaptations really only occur with proper recovery in between training rides.

Totally normal symptoms first starting out, all except the swollen lymph nodes. Are you serious?
